Enveloping
tiny urban towns, just minutes away, abound a realm
that embodies the true soul of Bhutan. Lush valleys
with terraced fields, quaint hamlets against a backdrop
of rising hills dotted with ancient monuments and fluttering
prayer flags, here time stands still. Higher or deeper
and it's all about a rich and unspoiled environment
teeming with rare flowers, animals and birds. Bhutan
is a natural paradise offering the traveler an experience
like no other. Trekking and other outdoor activities
mean getting off the beaten path into a bewitching world
that few have had to the fortune explore.
Comprising three tiers from the sub-tropical to the
temperate and the alpine, each distinguished by their
rich eco-systems, there is no dearth of adventure here.
Whether it is to share wonderful moments with farmers
and herders, study unique and even endangered plants,
birds and animals or test ones walking prowess, there
is something for everyone. The trails are devoid of
litter, the eco-species strongly protected, and the
people charming and friendly. |
